Submitting stories for Writer's Duels isn't the same as submitting a story to the regular site. Below you'll find a checklist. Click Here for a sample submission.

Submission Checklist:

1. ...included your penname, category, rating, genre, e-mail address, title, summary, and story

2. ...saved as .txt or .doc?

3. ...double checked your html? (Contest staff will not correct formatting errors for you, so be sure you're using codes properly)

4. ...spell checked your document? You will not be able to edit it after it is submitted, so make sure you're finished with it before you submit.

5. ...titled your attachment something obvious like "MY_Fanfic_Submission.doc" or "SarahLupinsStory.txt?" (Untitled attachments will be deleted without being opened.)

6. ...made sure it adheres to the Terms of Service? (TOS)

7. ...made sure it is of the proper length? (2000-4500 words)

8. ...made sure that it is rated PG-13 or under (for full descriptions of ratings, view the TOS)

9. ...double checked that you're attachment is attached and that you're submitting to the correct e-mail address?

10. ... saved a back up copy! (This is possibly the most important instruction on this checklist!)
