I'm considering renaming this tale "What was I thinking" but every time I do, i'm reminded what an excellent title "Come Again" really is for it. Plus, hi, "What was I thinking?" doesn't really fit on the header.

Come Again is - or is to be, rather - the insane endeavor which I am undertaking to the end of surviving NaNoWriMo non-contest thingie. For those of you that aren't familiar with it - it's an insane little project that has been running for several years now. The goal of the contest is to write a 50,000 word Novel in 30 days.

I didn't actually see anything in the rules about pre-planning so that is what this is all about. In fact, that's what i'm doing right now :) Beware, my friends, before you embark upon the disjointed tale that is the making of Come Again.

Plot:
I'm a non-traditionalist, so when Courtney and I were discussing plotlines, we decided that, in order for me to stay convicted to the notion of writing this thing, it was going to have to be a damn good plotline and by that, we meant that it was going to have to make some people pretty fucking uncomfortable. After a few too many tablespoons of sugar, we landed on something that would sound a lot like anything else I've ever written - just with the twist and flair of a porn shop - and no one reviewing to tell me that I really need to work on my UK spelling. My goal is to include about 16 chapters - each about 3,000 words in length and all of them dealing with a separate aspect of the minutiae of sex in America.

Characters:
Well, there should be some - I've definitely decided on that. Beyond that detail, there are really only a few others at this point. There will be a protagonist - not one of those crazy stories with three or four main characters that follows all of their lives intimately. I've decided on most of the character details accidentally at this point but what I lack is a name. Other than her, I set my mind to a character named Max - sweet as peaches, no one in the world knows why she's working where she is kind of character and a few "guy's guys" to work the counter as well.

Any story that I write has to have a bar and, thus, a bartender. All in all, if people have suggestions for names, feel free to suggest them because I can't seem to come up with anything endearing.

Sexual Minutiae:
This is where I really need the most help. I'm a fairly educated individual and not a lot of things really surprise me from day to day but once in a while someone says something to me that knocks me on my ass. I need more of these things! More! More! More!

I'm mostly interested in stories that I can use the...erm...shopping aspect of. I actually have more fodder for this than I thought I would but I'm sure there are those out there who have better stories than I do :)
