and aristocratically beautiful with heavily lidded eyes and dark hair. After
her release she is no more than a shell of her former beauty, appearing thin,
pale, and unhealthy.

Along with her husband,
Rodolphus, brother-in-law, Rabastan, and fellow Death Eater Barty Crouch Jr.,
Bellatrix Lestrange tortured aurors Frank and Alice Longbottom to point of
incoherent insanity for information concerning the Dark Lord's whereabouts after
the death of James and Lily Potter. She takes great pride in her skill with the
Cruciatus, claiming that one must want to cause pain in order for the curse to
work effectively. Unfailing in her loyalty, she went to Azkaban with pride,
refusing to renounce any of the deeds she committed in the Dark Lord's service
and claiming that he would rise once more and reward them greatly for their
loyalty.
She has often been named the Dark Lord's most loyal Death Eater, and something
of a favorite of his, and given the nature of her personality it is no wonder.
She has a fondness for torture and cruelty, an unyielding hate for blood
impurity, and was considered even before her time in Azkaban to be quite mad.
