Facts About Cho Chang:
Cho Chang was born 1979, and she entered Hogwarts in 1990 and was sorted into Ravenclaw. In 1993, her third year, she joined the Ravenclaw Quidditch team as their Seeker, but initially had problems with injuries. Cho was once very popular, often traveling around in a large group of girls. However, after the Death of Cedric Diggory, she is often seen alone.

The first time Harry encountered Cho Chang was during the Ravenclaw/Gryffindor Quidditch match during the 1993-1994 school year. He thought she was very pretty, and was yelled at by Oliver Woods for being too much of a gentleman. He would have preferred Harry to ‘knock her off her broom.’  As the year went by he developed a crush on her. She seemed somewhat knowing of his feelings, or perhaps she is just a particularly kind person, because she didn't join in when the rest of the students treated Harry badly after he became a school champion. Harry noticed she didn’t wear a ‘Potter Stinks’ badge, created by Draco Malfoy.
Cho was the only girl who Harry really considered asking to the Yule Ball, but waited too long. When he finally did ask her, she had to turn him down because she'd already said yes to Cedric Diggory. She said she was really sorry, and even looked it.

Cho and Cedric became a couple after the Yule Ball and were seen walking around the school hand in hand. She was Cedric hostage during the second task, and after being rescued from the bottom of the lake, where she was under an enchanted sleep, gave Cedric an admiring look.

Cho didn’t take Cedric’s death during the third task of the Tri-Wizard tournament well. Hermione Granger says Cho cries everywhere. She was even crying when she gave Harry his first kiss.

When the DA was started, Cho joined along with her friend, Marietta Edgecombe (although Marietta wasn’t happy about joining.) It was Cho that suggested the name, Defense Association, in which the acronym ‘DA’ was derived. However, Ginny Weasley supplied the name itself.  She struggled learning the Expelliarum spell due to being nervous around Harry, and caught Marietta’s robe sleeve on fire. Cho said she'd never been able to learn stunning before joining the DA, that Harry was a really good teacher, then kissed him under the mistletoe, which was supposedly full of Nargles. Only she and Hermione were able to conjure a patronus. Cho’s took the form of a swan, which she thought was very pretty; although Harry lectured they were harder to create in the presence of Dementor.

Harry’s first date was with Cho but in Harry's words, it was 'a complete fiasco'. Cho took Harry to Madame Puddifoot’s for coffee, and she tried to make Harry jealous by telling him that Roger Davies (Ravenclaw Quddich Captain) had asked her out. Cho displayed a fit of jealousy herself when Harry mentioned meeting Hermione at the Three Broom Sticks for lunch. She automatically assumed Harry was making plans with his X-girlfriend, thanks to the article Rita Skeeter published about Harry and Hermione’s relationship during the previous year. They parted on bad terms, but after The Quibbler interview came out, Cho made up with Harry for a while.
Cho’s relationship with Harry met a early end when Marietta Edgecombe betrayed the D.A. to Umbridge. Cho came to Harry and pleaded Marietta's case, arguing that Marietta's treachery had had extenuating circumstances. Rather than accepting Cho’s argument for her friend, Harry pointed out that Ron Weasley's position was the same as Marietta's, and that Ron had kept faith. Cho however disagreed and pointed out that Hermione’s jinxing the letter was an evil trick. Harry thought it was brilliant. This was the last time we know the two spoke.

After losing to Gryffindor in the final match of 1995-96, Cho threw her broom to the ground in a fit. She began dating fellow Ravenclaw Michael Corner who had been recently dumped by Ginny for becoming too whiny.

Harry and Cho last saw one another on the train ride back from Hogwarts at the end of the year, where Ginny explained her relationship with Michael Corner to Harry. Cho blushed at the sight of Harry, but Harry felt that wanting to be with Cho had died in the part of his life that had died with Sirius.
