Name: Ginevra Molly Weasley
Nickname: Ginevra is always referred to as Ginny

Date of Birth: August 11th 1981

Parents: Arthur and Molly Weasley

Siblings: Bill Weasley, Charlie Weasley, Percy Weasley, Fred Weasley, George Weasley and Ron Weasley

Address: Ginny lives at The Burrow in Ottery St. Catchpole with her parents, Fred, George and Ron.

Appearance: Ginny has the trademark Weasley –flaming red- hair and freckles. She also has chocolate brown eyes. Though it is never said we can assume that she has the stockier Weasley build as in Order of the Phoenix we establish that when her jaw is set her resemblance to Fred and George is suddenly striking. Her hair is presumably long.

More About Ginny Weasley:
Ginny at first was established as a shy, quiet little girl. Ginny was placed in Gryffindor, which means she must also be brave and noble. Ginny was the youngest of six brothers. Being the youngest and top of that the only girl. She was always left out of her brother’s games. We know this when Fred says that he doesn’t know Ginny got so good at Quidditch, seeing as how they’d never let them play with them. Hermione is then quick to point out that Ginny had in fact been breaking into the Weasley’s broom shed since the age of six and taking each of her brothers’ brooms out in turn when they weren’t looking. This also tells us that though she was left out she was also determined not to miss out.

Ginny, in my opinion is more like her mother than the other Weasleys. In that she is protective and very loyal. Her protective side is shown in the Chamber of Secrets when she defends Harry in Flourish and Blotts. Her loyalty is shown in Order of the Phoenix when she insists on going to Ministry with Harry, Ron and Hermione to help save Sirius.

Ginny is also an understanding character. She is the one who understands most what Harry goes through when he believes that he’s possessed by Voldemort. Ginny uses her own painful experience to help put Harry more at ease. She also understands the need for Harry to talk to Sirius and does not immediately shoot down the suggestion. She also supports his decision to check on Sirius immediately and offers to help out in the process.

Though we know nothing of Ginny’s friends in her own year except that she has some. “The moment they reached the Gryffindor’s Ginny was hailed by some fellow fourth years”. She has however, somewhere along the lines made a friend in Hermione, who she obviously divulges her secrets to. She also has an idol in Tonks or so it seems.

As far as siblings go, we can presume that Bill is her favourite brother. She defends his hair in the Goblet of Fire when Mrs. Weasley suggests cutting it. She also uses Bill’s opinions to ascertain that nobody really liked Snape, using his opinion to state that the matter was closed. However in the Order of the Phoenix we see that she has started to take –as Percy Weasley puts it- ‘The Fred and George route”.

Some people could say that Ginny has more in common with Harry than Ron or Hermione. This might be because of the fact that she has also had a one on one experience with Voldemort in some shape or form. In her fist year Ginny Weasley discovered a diary in her schoolbooks. When used she discovered that it replied to her. She thought she’d found a friend in this diary, which seemingly “understood” her. What Ginny didn’t realise was this diary leeched on her energy to make the memory inside it more human. It started to take over her and lured her into unknowingly opening the Chamber of Secrets.

We know that Ginny must have been greatly traumatised by this and she tells us that she still hasn’t forgotten it in the Order of the Phoenix. This is where she shows her true Gryffindor spirit. Ginny pulls through the experience and almost managed to defeat Tom’s hold on her when she tried to tell Harry what was going on in the Chamber of Secrets.

We all know Ginny had a crush on Harry. This probably started from when she first saw him Platform 9 ¾ to drop off her brothers (a year before she started herself). This crush causes her to do many embarrassing things and makes her unspeakable. Though in the Prisoner of Azkaban onwards she starts to become braver where Harry is concerned, reaching a point in Order of Phoenix where she is completely at ease in his presence. Hermione tells us that Ginny has given up on Harry, which is why she is now seeing her new boyfriend, Michael Corner. We don’t however have any confirmation from Ginny herself that she has indeed given up on Harry. She expresses a liking for Dean Thomas at the end of Order of the Phoenix after she and Michael have broken up.

Skills:
Ginny is a decent Quidditch player, which we discover when she is given Harry’s position of Seeker on the Gryffindor Quidditch team. She is surprisingly good at being Seeker though later tells us that her preferred position is Chaser. We also know she produces a powerful Bat Bogey Hex.

Facts: Ginny is the last of seven children born to Mr. And Mrs. Weasley and the first girl born to the Weasley clan in several generations.
